These comprehensive terms, community guidelines, consent conditions, and editorial policies govern your participation, content uploads, and contributions across our platform. By accessing our platform, registering an account, or submitting content, you agree to comply with these unified terms.
1. What Is the Community Channel?
- The Community Channel is a dedicated space for people with disabilities to share their own videos, stories, and creative work.
- It operates independently from the We TV Official Channel.
- Content published here reflects personal views and experiences, not the official position or endorsement of We TV.
2. Who Can Upload & Participate?
You are eligible to participate and upload content if you are:
- A person with a disability.
- A carer or support person with appropriate permission.
- 18 years or older, or under 18 with verified parent or guardian consent.
- A registered member or contributor meeting platform standards.
3. What You Can Share
You may submit and upload:
- Personal life stories and authentic individual experiences.
- Creative content including art, music, comedy, short films, documentaries, and community news.
- Educational or advocacy videos focusing on inclusion and disability awareness.
- Content derived from real, verified personal experiences.
4. Prohibited Content & Community Standards
To maintain a safe, respectful environment, the following material is strictly prohibited:
- Promotion or advertising of external commercial organizations, unauthorized services, or businesses.
- Bullying, hate speech, harassment, abuse, neglect, exploitation, or discrimination.
- Offensive, disrespectful, or inflammatory material.
- False, misleading, defamatory, or unsupported statements/allegations.
- Harmful, unsafe practices, or dangerous content.
- Filming or photographing individuals in vulnerable or private situations without explicit, informed consent.
- Sharing private, confidential, or professional workplace information without permission (including NDIS plans, case notes, and medical records).
5. Contributor Consent & Licensing Framework
By submitting an article, story, photograph, video, audio recording, or interview response to We TV Community, you confirm and agree to the following consent and licensing terms:
- Voluntary Consent: Your participation and submission are entirely voluntary.
- Scope of Publication: You understand that your story, photograph, video, quotes, and media may be published and displayed across:

wetvcommunity.au) - We TV’s official social media channels (e.g., YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
- Other digital distribution channels managed by We TV (Official Channel, Worker Hub, Jobs Board)
- Ownership & Licensing: Your video and creative content belong to you. By uploading, you grant We TV a non-exclusive license to display, host, edit, feature, or share your material across Community and Official platforms.
- Purpose Limitation: Consent given is strictly for the publishing purposes described. Your information, story, photo, or video will not be utilized for unrelated commercial advertising without your further explicit consent.
- Third-Party Subjects & Identifiable People: You must have clear, verifiable consent from everyone appearing in your media. Guardian consent is mandatory for minors or individuals requiring decision-making support.
- Right to Withdraw/Modify Consent: You may request to withdraw consent prior to publication. Post-publication removal requests will be evaluated based on privacy, safety, legal obligations, and public interest; removal is not automatic upon a change of mind.
6. Privacy, Sensitive Information, & Data Protection
We TV handles personal and sensitive information in accordance with applicable Australian privacy obligations, including the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
- Sensitive Information: Information concerning health, medical conditions, disability, sexual orientation, or personal circumstances is treated with heightened care and published only with specific agreement or lawful exception.
- Data Security: We TV implements robust technical and organizational measures (secure logins, restricted admin access, encryption, and secure storage) to protect your personal data from misuse, loss, or unauthorized access.
- Data Retention Policy:
- Signed/Submitted Consent Forms: Retained for the active life of the published article plus 7 years to evidence lawful publication.
- Published Content: Retained while active, and for a reasonable archival period post-removal.
- Rejected/Withdrawn Submissions: De-identified or securely deleted within 90 days.
- Removed Comments: Deleted within 30 days unless required for safety or legal proceedings.
- Data Breach Response: In the event of a suspected or actual data breach likely to result in serious harm, We TV will act promptly to contain the issue and notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches (NDB) scheme.
- Access & Correction: You have the right to request access to or correction of personal information held about you by contacting We TV.
7. Editorial Standards, Verification, & AI Usage
- Accuracy & Verification: Contributors must make reasonable efforts to verify facts, statistics, names, and quotes before submission.
- AI-Generated Content: Artificial intelligence tools may be used solely for drafting, editing, translation, or accessibility support. AI must not be used to fabricate people, quotes, interviews, statistics, news events, or deceptive media. Contributors remain fully accountable for the accuracy of their submissions.
- Editorial Review: All submissions are subject to editorial review. We TV reserves the right to approve, request evidence, edit for clarity and accessibility, redact unnecessary personal information, or reject any submission that breaches these guidelines.
8. Safeguarding, Reporting Concerns, & Complaints
- Zero Tolerance: We TV enforces a zero-tolerance policy for abuse, neglect, exploitation, discrimination, harassment, or unsafe practices. Breaching these rules may result in immediate content removal, suspension, or permanent blocking of accounts.

- Required Details: Include the content link, a brief description of the issue, and your contact details (optional). Reports are acknowledged within 5 business days and handled promptly.
- Privacy Complaints: Privacy-related complaints will be acknowledged within 5 business days, with a substantive response provided within 30 days. Unresolved complaints may be escalated to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) via
